Welcome to the Jungle! Our Unforgettable Annual Prom at Hammond Hall
Last weekend, Hammond Hall was transformed into a lush, vibrant rainforest as Witham Prospect School hosted our highly anticipated annual prom! This year’s theme was “Welcome to the Jungle,” and it was an absolute triumph of colour, music, and joyful celebration for our children, young people, care teams, and families.
Prom night is a monumental milestone in any young person’s life, but at Witham Prospect School, it holds an extra special meaning. It is a time to reflect on a year of incredible personal growth, celebrate deep friendships, and create core memories in an environment built entirely around our learners’ needs.
A Wildly Magical Transformation
From the moment our guests stepped through the doors of Hammond Hall, they were immersed in a sensory-rich, tropical paradise. Vines, palm leaves, animal print decorations, and vibrant floral displays set the stage, while soft ambient lighting kept the atmosphere warm, inviting, and sensory-friendly.
Our young people looked absolutely fantastic! After weeks of anticipation, choosing outfits, and getting ready, seeing everyone dressed in their finest was a truly emotional moment for staff and parents alike.
Sharing the Magic: A True Family Celebration
What made this year’s prom exceptionally special was having parents and family members join in the festivities alongside our young people and staff.
For parents of neurodivergent children, traditional school proms can sometimes feel overwhelming or inaccessible. By holding our event at Hammond Hall with tailored support, low-arousal quiet spaces, and familiar, dedicated staff on hand, we created a safe, inclusive space where families could relax, celebrate, and simply enjoy watching their children shine.
Seeing parents, young people, and support teams dancing together under the lights, laughing at the photo booth, and sharing a delicious festive food embodied everything our “home away from home” ethos is about.

Events like this don’t happen without an extraordinary team behind the scenes. A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible staff who became event organisers, our dedicated support workers and educators, and, most importantly, the wonderful parents and families who joined us to make the night so magical.
To our children and young people: you are the real stars of the jungle. Your energy, individuality, and smiles lit up Hammond Hall, and we could not be prouder of every single one of you!
