G'day! Celebrating Australia Day at Witham Prospect

Witham Prospect travelled “down under” for a day of vibrant culture and sensory discovery!

Our Aussie Highlights:

  • Sensory Outback: Exploring sand, leaves, and toy animals in tactile trays.
  • Creative Expression: Creating traditional-inspired dot art and responding to the rhythmic sounds of the didgeridoo.
  • Symbol Matching: Using visuals to identify the Sydney Opera House, kangaroos, and the Australian and Aboriginal flags.

Learning & Inclusion

This celebration was designed to build communication and cultural awareness. By exploring both modern Australian symbols and Aboriginal perspectives, our learners developed a respectful understanding of global diversity. Whether choosing their outfit or mixing paint, our children and young people practiced independence and individual liberty throughout the day.

From the rhythms of the outback to the treats in the kitchen, it was a fantastic day of inclusive learning!
